What is victimism ?
Victimism is the condition of someone who constantly feels like a victim. They feel that they have no control over their own lives or anything in it. Things are happening to them and they have no say in it at all.
Someone who suffer s from Victimism is referred to as a victmist.
Common symptoms of Victimism.
Statements such as “This always happens to me.” “You don’t understand,” “I am so hard done by,” “I always get the shitty end of the stick,” “It's all because of _______,” “If only ____ hadn’t done that,” “If only a man/woman would love me then I could...” "They never have what I want," “I am just too fat, I can’t control my eating,” “I don’t know how to be myself,” "I always get red lights" “I can’t do anything to change this,” “It's not my fault,” “She/he is such arrogant, selfish snob” It can go on and on. There is no end to how many events and people a victimist can blame
A victmist sees no end to their suffering. Their suffering always seems to come from some outside source.
A victimist will blame pretty much anything, so that they do not have to take responsibility. Common people or things blamed for a victimist’s problems...
The government. The victimist’s parents or lack of. Overall lack of something be it skill, talent, money or social skills. The weather. The person who made this dammed thing. Any person in the immediate vicinity or far away. The milk man. The person writing this article. Okay, pretty much anyone but them.
If you have these symptoms give up now. There’s no hope. You’re a victim and can’t do anything to stop the horror that is your life.
There are some cures listed below but they will not apply to you. Your parents traumatized you, society alienated you, your friends didn’t accept you for who you are and life just won’t give you a break. There’s clearly no hope for you.
You can decide you're not a victimist. That everything in life happens for a reason, even if that reason is not evident to you right now. There have been a whole lot of thoughts about how you're a victim and you can turn them around. Check out the Intro to thought-management to get you started.
Several obese victimists are suing the fast food industry giants for their addiction.
"I trace it all back to the high fat, grease and salt, all back to McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King; there was no fast food I didn't eat, and I ate it more often than not because I was single, it was quick and I'm not a very good cook," Barber said in an interview with Foxnew's.com.
A victimist from Knoxville, Tenn. feels that Starbucks is to blame for her lack of judgment when placing her coffee.
"[She] balanced the extremely hot cup of coffee on her thigh with her hand on top of the cup as she pulled away from the window and negotiated a turn onto the roadway,' states the lawsuit. She noticed the lid was 'not affixed properly,' said the suit, but before she could get a better grasp on the cup, 'the lid dislodged from the cup, thereby causing scalding coffee to spill and splash onto [her] lap, right thigh and right hand."
Even after death a victimist’s legacy lives on.
[Last] month the mother of late National Football League, Derrick Thomas, star went to court to blame various organizations for his death following a crash in which he had been speeding on an icy road without wearing a seat belt. The lawsuit names General Motors Corp. as a defendant as well as local ambulance service Emergency Providers Inc. and Liberty Hospital, both of which tried to save Thomas after the accident and may now have reason to be sorry they got near him” (“Derrick Thomas’ mother sues GM,” Jefferson City News-Tribune).
You have the choice to be a victimist at every given moment in your life. At the end of the day we all have our victimist moments. Its fun to look at them in a humorous way so that we can laugh at ourselves and move on to enjoying our lives.
